Laurent Garnier (born 1 February 1966), also known as Choice, is a French electronic music producer and DJ. Garnier began DJing in Manchester during the late 1980s. He became a producer in the early 1990s and recorded several albums.

In 1987, he discovered The Haçienda in Manchester, and met Mike Pickering the resident DJ. Chicago house and Detroit techno became popular, and Garnier started mixing there under the name of DJ Pedro.

“The Man With The Red Face” got it’s name due to the Saxophone player. “We did it for about 20 minutes, the poor guy just couldn’t breathe, he was bright red, with a sweaty face, the mouthpiece seemed to be stuck between his lips, while we continued: ‘This is fucking shit, go harder, go harder’… and this is why the track goes nuts.” And this why it got this name. In 2000, it was released as a single and became one of the most famous tracks by the French maestro.
