Fatboy Slim – Star 69 (What The Fk) (2000)
Norman Quentin Cook also known as Fatboy Slim, is an English musician, DJ, and record producer who helped to popularise the big beat genre in the 1990s.
Rather than being a faceless behind the decks head-down DJ, Norman’s exuberant character whilst performing on the decks simply takes any audience with him regardless of the country or culture he is playing to.
The vocals on the song consist almost entirely of the repeating verse, “They know what is what, but they don’t know what is what, they just strut. What the fuck?”, sampled from “I Get Deep” by Roland Clark, which was also used on Fatboy Slim’s song “Song For Shelter”.
