D.H.S. – House of God (Azzido Da Bass Remix) (2001)
Dimensional Holofonic Sound (D.H.S.) blazed a trail with the release of the EP, “House of God” back in 1990. The title track became a techno anthem and global hit, and has been featured in DJ sets by Aphex Twin, Ken Ishi and Joey Beltram. That first, DHS EP was reviled by other giants in electronic music like The Orb, Josh Wink, Meat Beat Manifesto and DJ Shadow. All the above have collaborated with Stokes as a visual artist in the years since. DHS also produced ground breaking videos that aired on MTV and became influential to other visual artists like Hextatic and Emergency Broadcast Network, (EBN.)
While the electronic music scene flourished through the 90’s DHS continued with sporadic releases while Ben Stokes turned his energies towards directing award winning music videos for the likes of Public Enemy, Nine Inch Nails, De La Soul, The Orb and Ministry with his Chicago based company H-Gun Labs.
Currently, Stokes is a member of Meat Beat Manifesto and, together with Jack Dangers, runs Tino Corp. Records. Quiet World, Relaxalot is the Label’s 14th release. All the while, Stokes continues directing and designing visual work for a host of clients including the DJ Shadow Live show , (2001 to the present,) massive building projections for S.F.City Hall, as well as performing as a VJ at EDM Festivals across the country.
