Baby D – Let Me Be Your Fantasy (Rank 1 Remix) (2000)
Baby D is an English breakbeat hardcore and house music group, best known for their UK number 1 single “Let Me Be Your Fantasy”.
The group was formed by Production House Records, a record label set up in 1987 by former recording artist Phil Fearon, whose group Galaxy had had a number of hits in the 1980s. Involved with the rave scene, Production House’s in-house record producer, Floyd Dyce, wrote and performed under several different names, including The House Crew, DMS and Xstatic. Baby D were originally another outlet for his compositions, consisting of his wife, lead vocalist Dee Galdes-Fearon (a former member of Galaxy), Claudio Galdez on keyboards and windsynth and Terry Jones (stage name MC Nino) on vocals and keyboards.
“Let Me Be Your Fantasy” was originally released in 1992. It became a number-one UK hit in November 1994 when re-released by London Records subsidiary Systematic. On the Eurochart Hot 100, the single peaked at number five.
Rank 1 is a Dutch trance group, formed in the Netherlands in 1997. Widely regarded as one of the originators of the Dutch trance sound, the group have produced a number of dancefloor hits since their conception. Although the two members of the group (Benno de Goeij and Piet Bervoets) had worked together before, Rank 1 (a name first used in 1999) was their first project with commercial success.
