Simon Barwood – Rise Nightclub Reunion 20th Anniversary – 8 November 2019
The iconic Rise Nightclub was open from 1999 to 2011 and was located on James St, Northbridge, Western Australia (previously O2 and now Air Nightclub). Simon Barwood was known for playing predominantly big room uplifting trance but he also played hard dance, electro and the occasional 80s/90s retro set. Simon had become the owner and one of the few resident DJs at Rise Nightclub. He also became the WA Nightclubs Association president representing the nightclub community in Western Australia for many years. The reunion night was Simon’s first time back to DJ’ing since 2011 and back to playing on vinyl.
